California Curbless (kinda)
This 1948 Spanish Bungalow in Travis Heights (Austin, TX) was in bad need of a master ensuite update. The space was tiny and awkward, the sewer line under the slab was cracked, and the plumbing needed to be replaced. So we fully gutted it, and brought it back to life with new pipes and a Schluter waterproof shower system for a curbless-ish clay tile shower with an integrated linear drain. The tadelakt plaster walls, custom refinished MCM vanity with marble countertop, and vintage medicine cabinet all open up through an extra wide white birch pocket door to the master bedroom.
Paint it black
Marisa wanted a color pop and some landscaping, well, there is no better pop than black with rocks and greens. I know a lot of folks worry about black paint making their house hot, trust me, you won’t know the difference, especially if you have a little shade.
Landscape with ROCKS
Bonnie wanted a less boring yard, with a fire pit, and BEES! So we planted a collage of different varieties of Sage, mostly Russian, because it’s beautiful and the bees flock to it. Also, planted plenty of evergreen shrubs and trees (this is in Indiana, want color in the winter time). Yuccas also do very well in this climate -zone 5b-6a
